Echolyn states that their very nomenclature is a nonsense term. Yet in every thing they do it becomes a very meaningful term on its own. It is timeless that way.
Such a beautiful song... I saw them twice in 95. Once in State College, PA. Rough show! They finished playing their first song and when the clapping was dying down, a guy at the next table from me yelled out LOUD, "What are ya clapping for? They suck!" The second was in Philly, with my brother. The show turned out to be just two months before our mom's death. She had suffered a lot in her final year so this song was a comfort to us both.
How could anyone ever say this band sucks? I was at their philly show that year and honestly, I was never the same because I fell in love with their music. This song in particular became alive for me as I went back to it when my parents passed away.... So beautiful and as a drummer, really like the drum sound in their recordings. Whoever said, they suck, clearly is no musician.... Complex, creative and beautiful music. Miss those guys.
What is scary is that in Quantum Theory the future has already happened. It comes first. Here we are just "Stuck in the Middle." This song works on so many levels they are hard to count.
I suspect like before Gentle Giants Free Hand they were in a contract with Sony Records who tried to make them what they definitely were not - a pop band. Like the end of any relationship - the core of Free Hand. They then fulfilled their required demos and to their ears the tortured When the Sweet Turns to Sour broke up for four years to return on an independent label and CD Baby with Cowboy Poems (Free) which I take as an inside joke towards royalties. In the minority I like Cowboy Poems and pretty much everything they did. The EP As Every Blossom is worth a listen. Bright Sides is magic.
A song that oddly touched very close to home... "A kiss would say it all, meant forever... all those days of vision have all.. gone.." "The key to all is love... peace within your heart.. the price for love is great-- but patience... leads to truth.." I have a hard time deciding if the above statement is actually true...Does patience really lead to truth?
I went to a funeral today for my cousin who died at the age of 39 of cancer. I don't believe he knew this song or band(in fact I never got to know him very well so I don't know much about his music taste) but I wanted to listen to this in his memory anyway.
This is one of my ALL TIME favorite tunes!! So much emotion here.... My dad passed away 2,years ago and I drew inspiration from this song to eulogize him. I play this song and sing it and tears flow down my face every time!! There is something more and I will see my dad again on the other side when my song is over. Thanks Echolyn for this beautifully epic song!!
They are very spiritual bunch. I love message music. Especially when it’s drawn from the words of the likes of CS Lewis. (My Dear Wormwood/Uncle etc. )
33 years with these talents and they still sound fresh
Never the same as we once were - there are no soulmates - just the covenant we made becoming one
Sublime ❤
Great!!!!💙
Une splendeur !
Un groupe mythique avec des mélodies fantastiques. Vive Pendragon ! 🙂👏

Un chef d'œuvre de rock progressif, un diamant musical ! Vive Pendragon ! 😀🙏
I'll listen this awesome song remembering my brother for ever. Thanks for the masterpiece to Echolyn!
Música nota 10. Capa de quinta série nota 0
Echolyn!!!
Listening to this after my grandpa passed away yesterday at the age of 89. He was in many ways, my best friend and I spent a lot of time with him.
This one gives me chills Beautiful and painful at the same time.
10 years of this upload of Pendragon's Total recall on UA-cam. And this is a damn great track. Enjoy it, those few who know it

This album.....
I was trying to figure out what song this is. The whole album is a winner and is full of gems that find their way into your brain later.

that is probably the longest fade out I've ever heard lol not a bad song though.
Probably intentional?
Neo prog at its very best

Love this tune. Makes me think of someone special. Pendragon awesome band :)
Great album, and an amazing statement for a band just starting out. No bad tracks and a lot of classics.
I agree. Very good album with several great tracks including this one.

Kids don't write music like this anymore... These were just boys... Incredible musicianship.
Stroud boys.
I want this tab
I'd never listened to the lyrics before but man they really hit a nerve. It's a majestic and emotional song. Magnificent.
The first album is pretty "meh" overall, but this one track alone is worth the purchase price.
hey full album?
Love it!
Life charges past the mortal in man....brilliant band, love them!!!
I have not heard this in awhile. Thanks for posting it.
I wish I could have met your dad. I'm sorry for your loss.
gran pezzo, grande band
This song makes me think of my brother who passed away in 1997 at the age of 45. I miss him so much!
I can understand...Actually the lyrics are so significative and striking!
I also would like played this song at my funeral
We played this song at my dad's funeral. It was his favorite song. It makes me cry all the time. I miss him so much.
Was your dad a prog fan or just happened to like this band?
I am sure that your dad misses you.
